Founded in 2010, Pixelatelier is an international studio located in Caracas, Venezuela which specializes in web and graphic design. With solid experience and creativity, we help improve your online presence and business.

Meet the team

Eduardo Plaza

creative director, web designer

Eduardo PlazaEduardo was born in Caracas in 1971. He completed a master degree in musicology in France and he then returned to Venezuela to complete a second master degree in piano performance at the prestigious music school of the Universidad Simon Bolivar, where he worked as a professor and a researcher for 8 years. Following his need for studying, he is now about to complete a PhD in literature and music at the same university.

Eduardo has been passionate about web design and 3D animation since 2001, when he started to learn this discipline by himself. He created his first website called Musicaenclave, an online music journal with international success. Since then, Eduardo has created numerous web pages for friends and colleagues, who have encouraged him to continue with his professional development in this area. At this time Eduardo works as the music coordinator at a Cultural Center in Caracas and is the creative director of Pixelatelier.

María Teresa Plaza

graphic designer, digital illustrator

María PlazaMaria Teresa was born in Caracas in 1974. In 1998 she graduated as a graphic designer at ULA University (Mérida) first in her class. She has been working as a graphic designer and illustrator in the corporate area, and has produced more than 500 short animation films for internet and TV. She moved to London for two years, where she worked as a marketing consultant.

Back to Venezuela, in 2006, she joined the project “El mundo de los Onqui Tonquis”, (The World of Onqui Tonquis), a TV animated series for children directed by Alfredo Anzola, in which she worked essentially as an illustrator. In 2010 she finished the project for a didactic TV animated series called "¿Y por qué?" (and why?). María Teresa is Eduardo's sister and a very happy and successful mother. She continues to work as a graphic designer and illustrator.

Lisa Blackmore

Researcher, translator, photographer

Lisa BlackmoreLisa was born in the UK in 1981 but in 2005 decided to pursue her passion for Venezuelan culture and moved to Caracas. She has a degree in Modern and Medieval Languages from University of Cambridge and works writing and translating all kinds of texts from English to Spanish, and vice versa. Her specialist topic is visual culture and she is an independent researcher with a Masters and Doctorate awarded by the University of London.

As well as working in translation, Lisa teaches courses on photography criticism, organizes lectures and events, and writes critical texts. In 2010 she had her first solo exhibition, Edificio Progreso, at El Anexo / Arte Contemporáneo Gallery. She has worked as a journalist, simultaneous translator, curator and created and edits a website dedicated to visual culture in Caracas.

Vicente Corostola

graphic designer, photographer, illustrator

Vicente CorosolaA Venezuelan artist and photographer, Vicente Corostola studied graphic design and architecture at the José María Vargas University, in Caracas. He has followed several design courses in Minneapolis, and he is a regular visitor of the "Graphic of the Americas" conferences in Miami.

Vicente is a DJ and producer at "Zona Multimedia" in terra.com.ve. He was named by "Complot" magazine the best designer of the year and was nominated by the PUND at the World Summit Award Venezuela for web content and creativity. He has worked for the music magazine "Ladosis" as a director and editor. He worked for the important Venezuelan magazine "Platanoverde" and for a film showcase called "Zinevasco". He teaches history of pop music at the Monteavila university. He is an incurable music lover
